Episode: 3. Building Media Relationships as an Artist
As an artist, building relationships with industry professionals, media outlets, and fans can help you succeed in the music industry. One way to do this is to reach out to influential people, like radio personalities, and connect with them through small gestures like sending them a T-shirt. It’s also important to have the right people representing your music to the media. Networking events, such as music festivals, can be a great way to meet industry professionals and build relationships. You can also do online research to find out which professionals and outlets are working with artists in your genre. Don’t be afraid to reach out and make connections – even if it feels awkward at first, it can pay off in the long run.
